Review: International Symposium for Foot Surgery, 5-6 Dec 2014

On the second Advent weekend, like every year the novel team participated in the International Symposium for Foot Surgery organized by the German Association for Foot Surgery / Gesellschaft für Fußchirurgie e.V. (GFFC). The symposium was held for the 22nd time, this year at a new location in Unterschleißheim at the outskirts of Munich.

450 participants and 70 speakers made the GFFC symposium a lively and successful event for exchange on the latest developments in the treatment of the foot. The theme of pedography featured in various papers and speeches: In his keynote lecture Dr Ing. Hilaire Jacob from Winterthur (Switzerland) discussed the mechanics of the ankle, Dr. med. Christian Kinast from Munich spoke about his experiences with percutaneous foot surgery, and Dr. med Hartmut  Stinus from Northeim presented on new procedures in manufacturing insoles, to name just some examples of papers dealing with the novel pedography. At our booth the novel team presented our latest load distribution systems, and in particular our pedography systems emed® and pedar® providing not only accurate pressure measurements but also a complete analysis of the foot function during stance and dynamic gait. We thank the many visitors who passed by our stand to discuss and test our systems.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas season and look forward to the next year’s symposium!
