novel has participated in ARAB HEALTH since more than 10 years due to our important contributions in combating Diabetes. Saving the Diabetic foot is one of the major themes in most Arab countries, building on the high prevalence of Diabetes there. The goal for persons with Diabetes is to prevent localized high plantar pressures and to create a better pressure distribution under the foot. novel’s emed® platform measurement system has proven to be the most accurate pedography system in foot diagnostics and its outcomes are used to select the appropriate footwear and construct shoe inserts. In addition, our pedar® in-shoe measurement system provides detailed and accurate information on foot function as well as the functions of shoe and shoe insert; it is able to measure and quantify pressure relief from inserts in modified shoes. Our emed® and pedar® system are therefore the ideal combination to diagnose the foot and to monitor the function of footwear in order to prevent Diabetic ulceration and amputation.
We look forward to meeting you at this most important trade fair and exhibition and to discuss our newest systems with you!

“To truly understand our hands and feet, we need to look inside them”, says biologist Dr George McGavin.
McGavin is the presenter of the first part of a two-part BBC documentary series taking us to discover the natural engineering that makes us human unique: It shows the dissection of a real hand and foot. At the Institute of Motion Analysis and Research (IMAR) at the University of Dundee, leading experts in human anatomy have created a dissection lab to look inside a hand and a foot taking them apart layer by layer. “You can learn a lot from books and lectures but it is only by dissecting the human body yourself that you truly understand how it works,” McGavin argues.
