Just 11 days after the IVO congress (see article below) the 2012 International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics Congress (i-FAB) took place in Sydney. Hosted by the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Health Sciences, about 300 participants follwed a program of 3 days fully packed with scientific presentations, posters sessions, social events, exhibition. Many talks showed the importance of pedography in biomechanic research, several studies were basing on measurements done with novel systems. A whole session on Thursday morning was dedicated to Plantar Pressure measurement, followed by the meeting of the i-FAB Pedobarographic Group Forum during lunch break.
Beside presenting our products on an exhibition booth during the congress, we used the chance to held a "novel User Group Breakfast Meeting" on early Friday morning. About 20 participants learned more about the newest novel products and software features, and had the chance to ask questions to the companies specialist.
We were proud to welcome a guest speaker at that meeting, Dr. Claudia Giacomozzi from the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome, Italy (leading technical body of the Italian National Health Service). She hold a talk about main issues dealing with accuracy and appropriateness of pressure measurement devices (PMD), and on the need for Consensus and Standardization on PMD Technical Assessment.
