Dear Colleagues,

It is with outstanding delight to invite you all to the international Expert Scientific Meeting 2012 (ESM 2012) to be held at the Department of Health Science and Technology at Aalborg University in Northern Jutland, Denmark. Based on the tradition of previous years, this conference is dedicated to research on dynamic load distribution in biomechanics. This meeting unites researchers from various scientific fields and sets an interdisciplinary stage for newest developments in applied and fundamental research. Topics will be ranging from load distribution under the foot to in vivo pressure distribution within joints, on seats, or handles of tools, during sport movements, data analysis techniques and data integration in advanced applications.

The interdisciplinary flavor of the meeting will reflect the multidisciplinary research environment at the Department which has developed over the previous 15 years here in Aalborg. The Department of Health Science and Technology (http://www.hst.aau.dk/) unites as many as seven different degrees ranging from biomedical engineering over sports science to clinical sciences and includes subjects such as medical technology and medicine, our most recent accrual. It is therefore, that we kindly invite you to this event together with our co-hosts from other institutions in this region.

The ESM2012 will take place from August 2 – 4, 2012. A workshop on the latest developments in foot and other pressure analysis systems will be held a day earlier, on August 1, 2012. There are limited places for this workshop so delegates are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible.
As is usual, the best scientific manuscript in the field of dynamic pressure distribution analysis will receive the Art in Science 2012 Award with a prize of € 5,000.00.
